It is with deepest sadness that we share that Dawn passed away at home on Tuesday February 24, 2026. We are so grateful for the support of her friends and family and know that it meant so much to her as well. Current and future donations will be used to help defray funeral expenses, and support her husband and son through this difficult time, especially to be able to stay in their home. Thank you again .
- We wanted to share an update on Dawn Angelotti. Almost a year ago she was diagnosed out of the blue with metastatic lung cancer. The family had just relocated to Florida and struggled to make ends meet and pay for medications while she underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and many hospitalizations for complications. Your donations were so helpful . She did miraculously well for almost a year and was able to spend quality time with her husband and sons. Dawn is now on home hospice. They are so grateful for the wonderful care she is receiving from her hospice nurses. They are also thankful for the support of friends, family and the community. Dawn is a devout Christian. Please keep her in your prayers.
Donato and Dawn continue to struggle financially during this time. Their only income is through social security disability. My brave sister-in-law, Dawn Angelotti, has always been the backbone of her family. Nineteen years ago, she helped my brother recover from a life-changing accident. He was thrown from his motorcycle and suffered multiple injuries including losing the use of his right arm. He became hopeless and depressed until Dawn reached out with words of empathy and inspiration to help him see that life was worth living. They soon married and were overjoyed when she gave birth to their son Brody. She became the family’s breadwinner, working hard while my brother stayed home to care for their son.
But now, Dawn is facing a battle no one should fight without support: metastatic lung cancer that has spread to her liver and heart .
She is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, but the illness has taken away her ability to work. With no income, their family has become homeless. They’re currently living in a hotel in Florida, without even a car to get her to treatment or their 13 year-old son to school.
We are raising funds to:
• Move Dawn, her husband, and their son into a safe, stable rental home near her treatment center
• Purchase a used car so my brother can drive her to life-saving treatments and their son to school
• Help them cover basic living expenses during this devastating time
Dawn has always given everything to care for her family and others. Now, she urgently needs help to stay alive and keep her family together.
