Support Dawn Sengstacken's Recovery Journey

On Thanksgiving Day, my sister Dawn Sengstacken suffered a terrible fall. She was taken by EMS to Yale and immediately sent to the trauma department, where she received 70 stitches for facial injuries, a broken nose, and shattered cheekbones. She lost consciousness during the fall and was left with partial paralysis in her hands and legs. She was then taken to the ICU where she remains.

She will have surgery this Wednesday to repair her spinal cord, which was injured in the fall. On Friday, she will have facial reconstructive surgery.

As many of you know, Dawn owns 3 Cats Painting. Until she recovers from her injuries, she won’t be able to return to work. She was in the middle of taking care of her wife, who just had knee surgery two weeks ago.
