Support Dawn Rew's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Dawn Rew was first diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2012 and was in remission for 12 years. This past August, her cancer returned. As a result, Dawn is now in the midst doing 5 days of intravenous chemotherapy and 21 days of pills each month. To give Dawn the best chance to beat this disease, her doctors have recommended a bone marrow transplant. That means Dawn and her husband, Jim, will have to live in Rochester at the transplant house for 3 to 5 months, depending on how well she tolerates the procedure.
To ease the financial burden during this difficult journey, this page has been established to raise funds to help cover medical expenses and provide financial support. As one can imagine, with neither Dawn nor Jim being able to work for an extended period of time, it puts a strain on their family. Dawn, who has worked as a member of the kitchen staff at Pine Island Schools for over 30 years, will not be able to work this entire school year. Jim will not be able to work for the 3-5 months they are living in the transplant house, as Dawn must have someone with her 24 hours a day.
Your contributions, big or small, can make a difference for the Rew family. Donations will allow them to focus on spending time together while Dawn recovers without the added stress of financial challenges. Please consider sharing this page to help spread the word.
Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support for Dawn Rew and her family during this time.
