Support Dawn Brooks' Fight Against Breast Cancer

You may know her by her official titles: Mom, Coach, Professor, Churchgoer. But to each and everyone of us, it's more than a title: Mentor, Life Changer, Confidence Builder, Motivator, Habitual Volunteer, Jesus-follower. At one point in time in all of our lives, our mother, coach, professor, and best friend did what she does best; she put her own interests aside for the well-being of someone else, often at the expense of her own. You may have encountered her on the softball field, where she taught you that the game you played on the field was as important as how you played the game of life outside the white lines. Or maybe you took her class at San Antonio College, convinced you'd slack off and check the box for a PE credit, only to have your mental, physical, and educational outlook on life completely transformed. Or maybe you were simply born to her, living a life of ease because of the sacrifices your mother made for you day in and day out, hoping to kick this cancer's ass so she can spend a few more decades with your own children you've raised now.

We're starting this fundraiser for our mother, Dawn Brooks, as she fights for her life in a battle with breast cancer, because she would never ask for help. In her darkest times she would only find strength to help others, never herself. Now it's our turn. For the mother who gave us everything yet never asked for anything in return. For the teacher who taught us how to push ourselves to become a healthier person, yet never asking for anything in return. For the coach who taught all the life lessons and physical and mental tools to become a better softball player but and even better person, yet never asking for anything in return.

Now it's time to give it all back.

Please help us on our journey to fund our mom's cancer chemotherapy, her subsequent mastectomy, and other costs that will help assuage the financial burden of helping care for Dad as he works through his stroke rehabilitation.
