Hi there! My name is Cheyenne Vandegrift & I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my Father-in-Law, Davis Vandegrift!

Dad (Davis) just suffered from a debilitating stroke the week of October 27th. This is his second time having a stroke, his last one being in 2020. Since his last stroke, Davis has changed his eating habits & lifestyle and has been enjoying chasing after his many grand-babies! Unfortunately, this round came out of nowhere (as they seemingly do) and is going to require a long recovery road. Davis is currently at Mercy, where they are hoping to send him to rehab for a minimum of 2 weeks to help regain his strength on the right side of his body and help him to regain his speech ability. Because he is so young (59), his neurologist is hopeful that he can regain most of his abilities over the next year with treatment & hard work.

This rehab treatment is critical in helping him *hopefully* be able to regain his strength over the next year. In order to go, he needs to be able to cover the $28,000 cost upfront (not covered by insurance) to secure a bed. Thanks to the gifts that have been made along with the hospital’s charity, Davis was able to move to rehab as of November 13th - praise the Lord!!

Any additional gifts will help with at home medical costs once he is able to come home, along with whatever else comes their way as he takes a likely year long (or more) journey of recovery.
