My name is Davina Monique Lane-Brewington, and I’m reaching out today not only as a single mother of four beautiful children and a loving grandmother to two precious grandchildren, but as a woman in the fight of her life. Recently, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, and since then, my world has changed in ways I never imagined.

Due to this diagnosis and the health complications that have followed — including high blood pressure and sleep apnea — I’ve undergone a double mastectomy and am now preparing to begin chemotherapy. Each step in this journey has been physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming. I have always prided myself on being a provider and caretaker, but my current condition has left me unable to work, and that has made it incredibly difficult to care for my family the way I always have.

As someone who has always worked hard to support my children and grandchildren, it’s not easy for me to ask for help. But today, I find myself in a place where I truly need the kindness and compassion of others. I am in dire need of support — not just to survive this illness, but to make sure that my family has food on the table, a roof over their heads, and the stability they deserve while I heal.

This journey has tested my strength in every way, but it has also deepened my faith in love, community, and resilience.
