Support David's Swim for Sharks and Healthy Reefs

Tax deductible
Aloha, I'm David, the founder and Director of the shark and marine protection non-profit Shark Stewards. We are a project of the Earth Island Institute working in education, science, and policy since 2006. I'm also an open water swimmer and each year we try to do a swim for sharks in a new location.

This year, I'm raising money to support youth ocean education through the production of short ocean stories on sharks, marine protected areas, ocean impacts, and solutions.

Since 2020, we have been working in Hawaii and this summer are diving and collecting more media and recutting our short film Kahu Mano.

I'm swimming the Kona Triple Crown swim series on July 5, a part of the Ironman course- I last did 30 years ago!

My goal is to swim from Magic Sands to Kahalu'u Marine Park, about 10k on August 9. This swim will raise awareness for sharks and coral reef health- and increasing ocean literacy for underserved youth. I'll be swimming in our local shark Bruno's backyard and will be on the lookout.

Please follow this fun adventure on our Instagram and YouTube channel and support the swim through your tax-deductible donation if you are able.
