Support David’s Road to Recovery After Dirt Bike Accident
Today March 8th my brother Davids life changed in an instant. He was out riding his dirtbike when a jump went wrong, resulting in a badcrash. Because he was in a remote area nearly an hour from the nearest hospital, family and friends had to rush him from the accident site to meet an ambulance crew halfway just to get him into medical hands as quickly as possible.
David was rushed into emergency surgery with a shattered right tibia and fibula, and a severe break and dislocation of his left foot. Surgeons are currently fighting to save his left foot, as the injuries were so severe they are unsure if the blood supply remained intact. This is only the beginning. Doctors have informed us that the left side alone will require mutiple surgeries, followed by extensive work on his shattered right leg. We are looking at a minimum of 6 to 8 months in casts before David can begin the long process of learning to walk again.
David is the definition of an outdoorsman—someone who is always on the move, whether he's working or playing. Just recently, he and his fiancée moved into a new home with their two children, Remi and Colt. While his fiancée Meagan is working, she's going to have to double down to keep their household running, the reality of a nearly year-long recovery means their world has been turned upside down.
As David fights through these surgeries and adjusts to a "new normal," the last thing we want is his family to worry about is the threat of losing their home. We are starting this fund to help cover their rent and essential living expenses for the next few months while David focuses entirely on healing.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward keeping this family stable during this medical crisis. If you aren't able to donate, please consider sharing David's story.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this hard time in his life!
