My name is Dave , and I live in St. Paul, Minnesota. Those of you that know me, know that I have no issues hustling for what me and the kids need but for the past couple of years, I’ve been discreetly dealing with heart issues. Recently my condition has worsened. As an art teacher and avid artist, I’ve always found joy in sharing creativity with others and helping students discover their own artistic voices. Unfortunately, my health struggles have forced me to step back from teaching, and I’m now facing the challenge of covering my basic living expenses on my own. I’m not great at asking for help, and I don’t even know who I could ask, but I need help.

Right now, my most urgent need is help with rent for my apartment. Like I mentioned before, I don’t know who to turn to. Every charity I’ve reached out to is overwhelmed or just flat out rejected us. I don’t have close family for many different reasons. If it weren’t for my sons I’d feel completely alone. This place is our home, the only thing we collectively really have. I can’t afford to lose it.

Ive dreamed of one day opening my own art school, where I can continue inspiring others and give back to the community. This hurdle might be the first of many in this part of my journey, but this isn’t the end of my story, just the beginning.
