Support David's Recovery After Ranch Accident
Donation protected
On July 12th, 2025, David Doughty was volunteering at a Christian Ranch in Dolores, CO and was severely injured when the horse he was on lost footing and bucked him off. David was transported via ambulance to Cortez, CO, and then life-flighted to Farmington, NM trauma center. After many CTs and X-rays, thankfully, he did not have internal injuries. He does have a double fracture in his left arm and will have surgery to repair it, and his body is full of contusions and deep bruising.
The trauma ER billing is coming in starting at $22,000, and the air transport will be out of pocket as high as $25,000. Other ER specialist bills are pending but will be thousands as well. David has surgery this week in Farmington. David will be out of work for two months. All of the out-of-pocket costs will devastate us financially.
For those of you that know David personally, you know that his love for God comes before anything else. His work at the ranch was fulfilling his soul and allowed him to bring others to Christ through trail rides and interaction with the guests. As he was volunteering at the ranch, he is not covered by worker’s compensation or anything at the ranch.
Thank you for your prayers, love, and financial support.
God bless, David and Rebecca
