On 7/21 my husband David was in a head on collision with a coal truck on his way to work. His car was a total loss and he sustained numerous injuries including a fractured hip, severe concussion, torn elbow and crushed thumb along with several head lacerations. We met with an orthopedic surgeon this morning and found out because of the hip fracture he will be non weight bearing and off work for a minimum of 6-8 weeks and is facing a potential surgery on his hand. David was the only source of income as I stay home with our 10 month old baby and 7 year old son and now he requires extra care as he cannot walk unassisted. He will require numerous doctors visits, X-rays, MRI’s and rehab over the next few months on top of normal everyday life. While I was hesitant to make this we are in a position where we will need help to get through this difficult time.
