David Button was diagnosed with liver cancer in November. He’s now on the liver transplant list, and just recently made it to the very top. That means the call for his surgery could come at any moment.

David has worked hard in the woods since he was just 15 years old. He’s always been a strong, hardworking man who provided for his family without hesitation. Now, at 65, his illness has taken away his ability to regularly work, and it’s been so hard to see him go through this.

While he waits for the transplant and during the recovery process, he and my mom, Yvette have to travel back and forth from Coos Bay to Portland. Once he receives the transplant, they’ll need to stay in Portland for about three months. Between the travel, medical bills, and everyday living expenses, the financial burden is more than they can carry on their own.
