Support David’s Journey to Honor His Father

David and his family are facing an unimaginable loss after the sudden passing of his father, Johnny Earl. Johnny was not only a vibrant spirit and central figure in many lives, but also an essential pillar in his family, always giving to others selflessly. His absence has left a deep void, and David was neither emotionally nor financially prepared for this moment. The shock of losing his father has made it difficult to navigate the days ahead, especially as David now feels called to step into the role his father held so gracefully.

While the VA will cover Johnny’s medical and service expenses, David needs support to cover his own travel, lodging, and food so he can be with his family and honor his father’s memory. Contributions to this fundraiser will help David with airfare, Lyft/uber rides, meals, and intermittent lodging during this challenging time. Your support will also allow David to be present for his grandmother, who needs care and comfort, and for his stepmother, who is grieving alongside him. One of his most important goals is to hold a gathering in L.A. for his grandmother and family members who cannot travel for a service. David has been a bridge for all his family members' communications during this time, helping everyone stay connected and supported. He has the self-love to know that he needs to honor this experience in its entirety, and if we, his friends and family, can offer him that, we will be part of a very important time in his life.

David really needs us to hold him and support him so that he can focus on his spirit, his family, and the endurance that caregiving someone into the next life requires. Anything you can give is something, and every gesture of kindness will help him find strength and comfort as he navigates this difficult journey. Johnny Earl's impact was so vast and there are many communities that cared about him and wish to honor his life... So, we have set two goals to help manage expectations of what is possible.
