Help Support David’s Educational Bright Future
Hi, my name is Debbie, but to one very special young man, I’m just Miimii. I’m writing this not as a teacher or school official, but as a proud grandmother who has watched her grandson David grow into one of the kindest, most hard-working kids you could ever hope to meet.
David is quiet, humble, and he shines in every way that matters. He’s been a straight-A student all through elementary and middle school. He just finished eighth grade on the Principal’s List once again and was honored with the President’s (President of the United States) Education Award Program, where he was presented with the Gold Seal award in recognition of Outstanding Academic Excellence.
To him it’s not just all about grades. He also served as a Peer Counseling Mentor, helping fellow students navigate challenges and offering support when needed. He was a proud member of the National Junior Honor Society and helped on the Student Council; always showing compassion, curiosity, and leadership.
Since elementary school, David has attended public virtual school and truly found his stride there. He thrives in that environment. He’s already completed high school-level coursework in middle school, received high school credits, and has shown the independence and focus to succeed with advanced material. He’s entering high school this fall with big goals, especially in dual-enrollment and honors paths.
After his family relocated several states away, David is now zoned in a school district that simply doesn’t offer what he needs. The local schools do not provide the advanced placement (AP), honors, and dual-enrollment courses that meet his academic level. After meetings with counselors and the district, it became clear that there were no public options available — in person or online — that could support his path forward.
That’s when his parents discovered Acellus Academy, a fully accredited private online high school with the curriculum and structure that matches what David has been learning in for years. It offers the advanced coursework, the flexible pacing, and the academic challenge that’s become part of how he learns best.
However, Acellus isn’t free. Like most private schools, it comes with tuition costs.
David’s parents work hard and have always prioritized his education. Our whole family is pitching in, but after the cost of relocating and trying to build a stable life in a new place, it just isn’t enough to cover the full tuition, especially not for all four years.
That’s where this fundraiser comes in.
This is my way of showing up for David, and for his parents, with the kind of love and support that reminds them they’re not alone. I want to raise enough to cover his high school tuition so he can stay on the path he’s worked so hard to build, and so his parents don’t have to keep carrying the weight of how to make this happen.
Whether you give five dollars or more, every bit helps. You’re not just helping pay for school. You’re giving David the chance to keep doing what he’s already proven he’s capable of; and that’s growing, learning, and giving back to others along the way.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, and sharing this with people who care about education and family as much as we do.
With love and gratitude,
Debbie (Miimii)
