Support David's Heart Transplant Journey

Donation protected
David Bastman has faced unimaginable challenges since his first heart attack in August last year. The journey began when he discovered he had already suffered a massive heart attack, coinciding with the tragic loss of his youngest daughter in December 2020. Despite the odds, David fought through a massive aneurysm and returned home in September 2024. However, this past Mother's Day, he was rushed to the ER in Spirit Lake, Iowa, unable to breathe and suffering another massive heart attack.

David was life-flighted to North Central Heart in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where doctors initially feared the worst. Against all odds, he woke up and continued to fight. After several surgeries, including the placement of a balloon and an Impella unit in his heart, David's condition remained critical. With multiple organ failures, the family sought help from the Mayo Clinic, but the risks were too high. Finally, UNMC in Omaha, NE, accepted David, offering a glimmer of hope.

The funds raised will be used to cover David's extensive medical bills, future procedures like an LVAD and heart transplant, and support his family, who have been living in the hospital by his side. With limited resources, they struggle to afford basic necessities, often relying on simple meals and sleeping in their car. Your support can make a significant difference in ensuring David receives the care he needs to return home whole again and provide some comfort to his family during this difficult time.
