Support David's Geoscience Degree Completion
Greetings!
My name is David and I am a senior Geoscience student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I am seeking help to cover the costs associated with UAF's Alaska Geology Field Camp- the final course of my Geoscience degree. I have been trying my best to find ways to cover these costs on my own, and have (very thankfully!) been awarded a generous $3000 scholarship from the Department of Geosciences, but I am in need of a little extra help.
In addition to paying for field camp, I also have to cover living expenses for the summer from the small amount of savings I have accrued by working two jobs as a teaching assistant and laboratory technician in the department. Due to the nature of this course (in and out of the field for a week or two every couple of weeks through June and July) I have been unsuccessful in finding summer employment that will work with my schedule. Additionally, I was previously unaware that summer 2021 was included in the 2020 financial aid year, and the federal financial aid available to me was only budgeted for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 and used up between those two semesters.
I am only asking for enough money to cover the rest of my enrollment in this course so that I can finish my degree this summer. I have been accepted (with funding!) to a Masters of Science in Geoscience program at UAF beginning in Fall 2021. If I am unable to pay for (and complete) this course I will not graduate and will not be able to begin my Masters degree. Tuition for summer courses is due by midnight (AKDT) on May 26th (https://www.uaf.edu/summer/dates-finances/deadlines.php).
I have been SO fortunate over the past four years to have received many scholarships (both from Peninsula College and UAF). Thanks to the support of those scholarships I have been able to conduct a variety of undergraduate research projects, present at conferences, and gain valuable career skills. Any support you are able to offer to help me bridge this financial gap this summer will be GREATLY appreciated.

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns. If you're unable to donate (I get it!) a share could be just as helpful.
Thanks so much. <3
