8 days later in ICU…..

My name is Stephanie , David’s girlfriend of years and I am currently writing this from the ICU at the University of Chicago . I am raising funds for David’s recovery from cardiac arrest.

On June 4, 2024 David was riding his bike when his heart stopped beating. The paramedics found him collapsed on the street with no heartbeat , but were able to resuscitate him after 6 rounds. Due to the cardiac arrest, David was in a coma and put on a ventilator at the hospital. It is not known how long his heart was stopped or the severity of damage to the brain. Doctors advised he may never wake up again. However, David DID WAKE UP 2 days ago!

He is now recovering in the ICU in Chicago and has a long road ahead of him. He is connected to a feeding tube , while in/ out of consciousness. He will be needing a lot of help as he progresses on his journey back to health. He is a single father of a 6 year old boy that he needs to provide for, he has ongoing bills and new medical expenses he will need to pay for.
