Help David Fight Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Life changed for us in an instant. What began as a few unexplained symptoms quickly turned into a devastating diagnosis — Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Since that moment, our lives have revolved around hospital rooms, test results, and holding onto faith when fear tries to take over.

David is currently being treated at Baylor Scott & White Texas Oncology Sammons Center in Dallas, Texas, where he has been since mid-July. Being so far from home has been one of the hardest parts. Everything familiar — our family, our home, our routines — is miles away. But we stay because we have no choice; this is where David has the best chance to heal.

 Each day brings new challenges. Some days are filled with hope and progress; others remind us just how fragile this fight can be. Lately, David’s platelet levels have started to fall, and his doctors are working tirelessly to find out why. They’ve placed him on a new medication that could help stabilize his condition — but it comes with a heavy cost.

 Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses are overwhelming. On top of ongoing medical bills, we are still trying to keep up with regular monthly expenses while being away from home. The financial weight of it all has become almost too much to carry alone.

 But we haven’t lost faith.
