Support David's Family in Flood Recovery

Hi all. As most of you know, our home was badly damaged in the historic flooding that hit Northern Thailand last week. We lost...a lot. (Including, it now looks like, our cats, who escaped from the home in which we were sheltering them...wily little jerks).

We had to throw away most of our belongings that were on the ground floor, including several pieces of furniture, most of our food, and most of David's wardrobe. Our car and motorcycle will also need major repairs.

Thanks to the help of our amazing community, our house has been cleaned and cleared out. As of yesterday, we are back living in it! Now begins the long process of replacing, rebuilding, and grossest of all, de-mudding. Many of you have asked if you can help, and while don't feel especially comfortable with it, you can. Flood insurance isn't really *a thing* in Thailand. In any event, we didn't have it! Our landlord is doing what he can for us, but his home got hit too, so times are tough all around. Most of what's gone, we simply need to buy again.

To be very clear, we are safe and secure. This isn't live-saving money we're asking for, it's restoration money. The fundraising target I've set is an estimate based on what we've already had to spend, what I expect we'll have to spend soon, and the (probably many) things we haven't even thought of yet. If you're in a position to help, we will be eternally grateful. And if you aren't, do not feel the least bit guilty. We really are ok.
