My name is David. I'm a single income provider that recently was diagnosed with a rare aggressive cancer in my spine (Ewings Sarcoma). I carried two jobs to make end meet before this diagnoses. This was diagnosed after five ER visits accumulating a pile of medical bills. I was sent to one hospital for treatment upon arriving I was informed that the medical team was not comfortable with the rarity, size and location of the mass. The next morning I was transported to MD Anderson in Houston My stay at this particular hospital was 20 day. I was recently discharged after my first round of chemotherapy. Due to low platelet counts my chemo is going to take longer and will involve several t transfusions. I applied for short term disability. I would be receiving 50% of my pay before all taxes and deductions. Unfortunately, this is not going to be enough to pay for my rent, medical costs, transfusions, chemo treatments and utilities. I'm a self efficient person but I'm in dire need.
