SUPPORT DAVID WEINMAN'S LIVER TRANSPLANT JOURNEY!
Hello, my name is Anna Gonzales, and I'm raising funds for my brother David Weinman (age 42) and his wife, Heather Hernandez. David is facing a critical liver transplant due to complications from his past medical treatments.
David's Medical History:
- At age two, David was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, requiring a bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
- In 1986, he received a single blood transfusion and contracted Hepatitis C, leading to liver damage and cirrhosis. Although he was successfully treated for hepatitis many years later, by then his liver was severely damaged and is now failing.
- Over the years, David has developed tumors on his brain, shoulder, lung, abdomen, and liver. Each time he gets treated, we lose some of David (literally). We need to preserve our beloved family member!
Current Situation:
David's liver failure causes symptoms like brain fog, jaundice, fatigue, high ammonia levels, and fluid retention. Doctors are regularly astonished by David’s perseverance and will to live, but he’s finally reached a point where he needs a new liver to survive.
The Mayo Clinic in Phoenix has accepted him for a transplant, requiring David and Heather to travel back and forth many times. A temporary relocation is in also his future (while he waits for a liver).
How You Can Help:
These funds will help cover travel and medical expenses during their stay in Phoenix, including housing and uncovered medical costs. I will work with David and Heather to ensure these funds are used responsibly.
Thank you for your love and support during this challenging time. Our family is truly grateful.
