Whether you’ve stumbled upon this page because you know David personally, or know him through a friend or family member, you already know what kind of man he is – one who is genuine, kind-hearted, and endlessly selfless. Beneath his tough-looking exterior is a deeply soft and loving soul. David is the kind of person who lights up a room, who lives to make others smile, and who never hesitates to put those he loves above himself.
My name is Emily Torres, and I’m writing this on behalf of my dad, David Torres, who suffered a life-threatening hemorrhagic brain bleed on August 6th, 2025. Since that day, our lives have changed completely.
Before this sudden medical emergency, my dad lived a completely independent life. He proudly worked as a Supervisor at Mitsubishi Electric, took care of our home inside and out, and somehow always found time for trips to Lowe’s and Home Depot… never coming back empty-handed! He absolutely loved having friends and family over, especially if it meant firing up the grill to make his famous double cheeseburgers for everyone who walked through the front door. Hosting was his love language, and he gave that love freely.
But even more than his passion for fixing things or making people laugh, my dad devoted himself to his family. He was our provider, our protector, and our peace of mind. He supported my mom, younger sister, grandmother, and myself financially, emotionally, and in every other possible way he could. He always made sure to remind us that we were the light of his life, and he would do everything in his power to keep us safe, happy, and cared for.
Now it is our turn to take care of him.
David’s condition is serious. His stroke left him in a coma, and he was unable to breathe on his own for several weeks. Thankfully, he has made some progress – he is now breathing on his own – but he remains in a semi-coma and is confined to a hospital bed, requiring 24/7 care and support.
As a family, we are doing everything we can to manage the emotional, physical, and financial weight of this tragedy. We spend every day by his side, hoping and praying for progress, while also working hard to keep our home and lives afloat. My mom is doing her best to hold everything together, I’m helping take care of our house and family, and my little sister, a high school senior, is preparing to apply to colleges. On top of this, we are also caring for my elderly grandmother.
This is the hardest thing we’ve ever faced, and while we’ve always found a way to push through, we’ve reached a point where we need to ask for help.
If you are able to donate any amount, it would mean the absolute world to us. Your support will go directly toward medical expenses, household bills, and the ongoing care my dad needs. More than anything, it will help us continue to fight for him the way he has always fought for us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, for caring, and for supporting our family during this incredibly difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
The Torres Family
