With Heavy Hearts: Honoring David Smith

Greetings to all family and friends of David,

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of David Smith—a devoted husband and father, cherished friend, and compassionate soul who left an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to know him. As we prepare to honor his life, we’re reaching out for support to help cover the costs of his funeral and memorial service.

Celebrating David’s Life

David was the kind of person who made you feel like family, whether you’d known him for years or just met him. As his nephew, I can say he was a father figure to me when I was young, and later became a close friend. We shared countless laughs and tears over the years.

He spent his life lifting others up. Dave brought laughter, warmth, and true friendship to everyone he touched. His greatest loves were his children—and later in life, Rosa, his wife. I’ve never seen so much joy in Dave as when he spoke about Rosa and the life they built together. She completed him and brought immeasurable happiness to his days.

Of course, Dave loved joking around and just being himself. He had his mischievous moments, but it was his heart that always shined through. He also had an unwavering dedication to God. His final text to me before being admitted to the hospital read:

"I never lose my faith or joy. God is a big God."

That was the man I respected and loved.

Our Goal: $5,000

We’re hoping to raise $5,000 to help cover the minimum funeral expenses, including the service, burial, and related costs. Any contribution—large or small—will help ease the financial burden on David’s family during this difficult time.
