Hi, I’m David Rivera and Denver is my city. I’m a 17-year-old student from Abraham Lincoln High School who has achieved the opportunity to become a Denver Young Ambassador for Colorado, but most importantly, for my community. I had the wonderful opportunity to demonstrate to the Denver Sister City why I am a good candidate to represent my country in Japan. I will be able to explore Takayama, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima, as I have the extraordinary opportunity to engage in cultural, educational, and diplomatic experiences through the Denver Sister City partnership with Takayama.

This trip will be occurring from June 5 to June 16, 2025, including a four-night homestay with a local family in Takayama, as well as visiting historical landmarks. However, I need some help from my community. For this trip to happen, I need to raise an amount of $465.00 of the $4,750. Thankfully, the Denver Sister City has provided me with a scholarship of $4,285. Unfortunately, this trip has too many expenses, which my parents can’t cover completely. For that main reason, I’m seeking help from my community to complete this goal. Any amount of help will be greatly appreciated and will help me achieve my goal of traveling to Japan and learning different ways I can improve my community. I'm need to raise an amount of $465.00 and a bit more to complete other expenses.

I’m a first-generation student with an enormous vision of how I could improve my community in the future. This trip would be a great opportunity to explore a different culture and hopefully adapt some of that culture to my community. Thank you.
