For decades, our friend and community member, David Pope dedicated his life to protecting and serving others. He was part of the Dodgeville Police Department for 32 years, serving his community with strength, humility, and compassion. He protected others without hesitation and carried the weight of that responsibility with pride.
In February, he suffered a serious stroke that has left him hospitalized ever since. While he continues to fight every day with determination and strength, the stroke caused significant loss of mobility on his left side, and his recovery journey is just beginning. His next step requires specialized rehabilitation treatment out of state, where he will receive the intensive care and therapy needed to regain as much independence and quality of life as possible. The emotional, physical, and financial challenges for him and our family continue to grow with each passing week.
Those who know him know the kind of man he is — someone who spent his career showing up for others in moments of crisis. Now, we have the opportunity to show up for him. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help support ongoing medical care, rehabilitation expenses, travel, lodging, and the many unexpected costs that come with long-term recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping him in your thoughts and prayers would mean just as much. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this difficult time.
