Support David Peterson, a Disabled Veteran Battling Cancer

Hello friends, family, and kind strangers,

We are reaching out today to ask for your support for our beloved father, and grandfather of four young grandsons, who is facing a difficult health battle. Recently, he was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the salivary gland, a discovery that came after a severe infection left him septic in the hospital. While fighting that infection, doctors uncovered the tumor.

After months of extensive testing and consultations, he is now preparing to undergo a major neck dissection surgery at the end of this month. Following the surgery, he will face radiation and potential chemotherapy to continue the fight. His road ahead will be long and uncertain.

His cancer and respective treatments have left him unable to work, and it’s unclear when or if he’ll be able to return to his job. The financial strain of frequent trips to Boston for treatment, medical expenses, and everyday living costs have grown overwhelming.

We are so proud of our dad, and also, of his service to our country. He was a part of the NH Army National Guard and the US Army Reserves for a collective 31 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel and disabled veteran. During this time we want to ensure he can focus on his health and recovery without the added stress of financial worry. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in easing this burden.
