My dad has spent his whole life showing up for others.

After 20+ years in law enforcement, David Owen built a reputation for being the kind of man who never meets a stranger.. the one who could walk into any room and leave with a friend. Now retired from the force, he works security at Crossings Church in OKC, still doing what he’s always done: serving his community.

My dad is a husband, a father of four, and a proud grandfather of four. He’s the one cracking jokes at every family gathering, yelling at the TV during OU games (as long as they’re winning), and making everyone around him feel like they belong. He has never once made anyone feel like a burden — that’s just who he is.

Just weeks ago, our family received news that changed everything. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He starts treatment soon, and the road ahead is hard.

I’m asking for help covering what insurance won’t — medical bills, travel to and from appointments, and everyday living expenses while he focuses on fighting. He would never ask for this himself. That’s exactly why I am.

My dad has given 35+ years to protecting and serving others. He’s spent his whole life being there for people. Now it’s our turn to be there for him.
