David Nelson, the heart behind Netti's Treasures in Chappell, is facing a medical crisis that has turned his family's world upside down. On Thursday night, after struggling with chronic back pain, dental issues, and severe headaches, David went to bed and by morning was unresponsive. His wife, Laura, found him unable to wake and vomiting, prompting an emergency rush to Sidney hospital. From there, David was airlifted to Fort Collins, where doctors diagnosed him with meningitis and placed him in an induced coma. Only recently have they begun to wake him, and while there are small signs of progress, his recovery is still uncertain.
This sudden illness has left Laura and their son, Daris, facing enormous challenges. Laura is traveling back and forth to Fort Collins to be by David's side, incurring gas and hotel expenses. Thankfully, their home and animals are being looked after by friends during this time. Their beloved thrift and antique store, Netti's Treasures, is a cornerstone of the Chappell community, but with David hospitalized, the family is struggling to keep things afloat.
Any donation you can make will help cover medical bills and travel costs during this difficult time. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser or sending prayers and positive thoughts to David, Laura, and their family. Your support means the world to them and to everyone who loves them.
