Support David Monahan's Fight Against Cancer

As if 2020 wasn’t hard enough on us all, right around Christmas our family received the news that our Dad is in for the fight of his life. During a routine colonoscopy, a tumor was discovered. An MRI revealed concerns with cancer in the prostate as well. These last few months, our family has supported our Dad the best we can, while we all navigate our way through this. In an effort to be proactive, our Dad is seeking treatments to cleanse and rid his body of toxins to support optimal function of his immune system. Far too many friends and family members lost their battle to cancer due to some complication with the immune system. He is adamant, therefore, to explore every resource available to improve his chances. As doctor appointments provide us with more details we will keep everyone posted.
Our Dad supported every interest and venture of ours; including being our soccer coach, tutor and biggest cheerleader at every lacrosse game. He raised us to be loyal to our friends and through that loyalty we learned how to be there for the ones we love. There are many of you that became like one of his kids too. He has a way of making you feel like you are his most favorite person and probably cooked dinners just for you because he knew you were coming over. Our dad is our rock and a huge support system for the ones he loves. That being said, during this time of his life we want to support him the same way he has supported us all those years. This is what he needs most at this time in his life. It is our turn to be his biggest cheerleaders and we want to support him every step of the way!
It is most important that our Dad remain as positive as possible during this scary time. The worst thing for his immune system is stress. The medical bills are piling up and we can see the pain behind our parents eyes as they search for how they’ll afford all the treatments and therapies. Conversations these days seem to be consumed by what will or will not be covered by healthcare. We do not want him to stress about money. There is a necessary, very invasive and expensive surgery that isn’t fully covered. Then the dreaded chemotherapy and radiation integrated with holistic measures to ensure the cancer is attacked from every angle while keeping the body strong enough to heal. He would never ask for money but he raised his girls to be loyal and to always help when people needed help.
That being said, we are nothing without our tribes.
Family…Friends… Community… Together we can move mountains.
