Hello my name is David McPeek. In the spring I went to Guatemala as part of a student missions trip. God used this time to strengthen my faith in him and to give me a passions for the people in Guatemala. In Guatemala we went to Monjas in Jalapa, to a children’s home called “Shadow of His Wings” and a Christian school called “Liberty Christian School” all under the organization known as the “James Project”. The mission of the James Project is to rescue children out of abuse and abandonment and mentor them in Christ so that they can grow in their faith and stature and not have to live on the streets. In Monjas we ministered at the James Project by painting houses, running a vbs, and played with the kids. We also went out in the community to a nursing home and made supply baskets for a few families in need. My heart was greatly connected to what I saw in Guatemala and as soon as we left God put it on my heart to come back and spread his name. I hope to go this summer from June 27 to July 6. I want to grow even more in the Lord and want to pursue his purposes and his heart.
