PLEASE donate to support David Lewis’s medical treatment and family expenses.
On Saturday, May 17th, David Lewis had just finished walking the family dog and was getting ready for work at the car dealership in Shallotte, North Carolina. But suddenly, his left leg and left arm stopped working altogether. David called his wife, Michelle, for help. He had suffered a severe and debilitating stroke — and in an instant, life took yet another unexpected and painful turn.
A former state representative and farmer, David has spent the past several years working hard to rebuild. From selling appliances in Raleigh to selling cars in Brunswick County, he’s done honest work, paid down debts, and supported his wife and three children with everything he could. Just as he began regaining his footing, this stroke left him bedridden, disabled, and facing months — if not years — of recovery.
David is currently hospitalized at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he is undergoing intensive care in the Rehabilitation Unit. Doctors estimate it will take 6 to 12 months before he could possibly regain function on his left side. He is unable to walk, unable to work, and unable to return home until costly modifications can be made to ensure his safety and mobility.
Yet through all of this, David remains the same friendly, faithful, and resilient man so many of us know and love.
How You Can Help
We’re raising funds to support David and the Lewis family as they face this overwhelming challenge together. Your gift will help with:
✅ Ongoing rehabilitative care (inpatient and outpatient)
✅ Home modifications for accessibility and safety
✅ Household expenses while David is unable to work
✅ Support for his wife and children during this difficult time
As David’s close friends, we're asking all who know and love him to lift him up in prayer — and if you're able, to give generously.
Whether you can give $25, $250, or $2,500, your donation will make a real difference. Let’s come together and show David that his community stands beside him.
Thank you so much for your support and your prayers. — Dee Stewart & Jason Lemons
