Hello to all of you who love our pal David Hydar! Last week I got a call from Dave letting me know some shocking news, that he had been diagnosed with cancer. We visited him at Rush Hospital last week, where he's being treated for complications from his chemo treatments, and got a bit more detail. I'm putting this GoFundMe together because, well, Dave deserves the support from his community. I know, as many of you do as well, he'd do the same for any of his people in need. Read Dave's story below, and if you're able, help take a load off Dave.
Dave's Story: David is a devoted primary parent to his 7-year-old son, Braydon. Just a month and a half ago, David received the life-altering diagnosis of stage 3 head and neck cancer. Since then, his world has been turned upside down as he faces an intensive treatment plan at Rush Hospital: 12 weeks of chemotherapy, a short break, and then another 5 weeks of combined chemo and radiation. The physical toll is immense, but the emotional and financial strain is just as challenging. Unable to work during treatment, David is struggling to cover essential expenses like medical bills, rent, groceries, and childcare. On a positive note, Dave's battling hard and his team of doctors are going for a CURE.
While David fights for his health, his son Braydon is staying with his grandmother, missing the daily connection with his dad. Their bond is incredibly strong—David and Braydon are inseparable. David has always played a dual role in Braydon’s life, providing love, support, and stability. Now, as he faces this battle, his community has a chance to rally around him. Every contribution will help David manage the costs of treatment and daily living, so he can focus on recovery and getting back to Braydon. David is known for his heart of gold and his willingness to help anyone in need. If you’re able, please consider supporting David on his journey and helping to lighten the load for this loving father and his son.
All proceeds from this GoFundMe are going directly to David. He has approved setting this up.
