Support David Hernandez's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
We are reaching out to you on behalf of the Hernandez family, who are facing an unimaginable challenge. Their beloved son David, an 8-year-old twin, has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right shoulder. Tragically, the cancer has metastasized to both his lungs, making this fight even more daunting. Osteosarcoma is extremely rare, with only about 500 children diagnosed each year.
David and his twin brother, Daniel, are students at Stanley Switlik Elementary School, where their mother, Yani Hernandez, also works. Due to the severity of David’s condition, he will undergo an intense 29-week chemotherapy regimen, followed by surgery. This treatment will require the family to relocate to Miami, where David can receive the specialized care he needs.
During this time, Yani will be out of work to care for David, and to navigate what will be best for Daniel as well during this time. It will be critical to protect David’s compromised immune system. The family’s separation and the intense treatment will place a significant financial burden on the family. While Alex (dad) will continue to work to support them, he will be separated from them and the expenses associated with the treatment, relocation, and lost income are overwhelming.
We are asking for your help to support the Hernandez family during this difficult time. Your donations will go towards medical expenses, travel, accommodations, and daily living costs. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, please share this page to spread the word.
David, Daniel, Yani, and Alex are incredibly grateful for your support and prayers. Together, we can help them focus on what matters most—David’s recovery.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
