We are reaching out to our friends, family, and the incredible local automotive dealership community in Memphis for help during a time we never expected to face. My love, David Frederick, was recently in a very serious motorcycle accident. The first night was emergency surgery to find and stop the internal bleeding. The next morning was surgery to reconstruct his broken-in-half pelvis. Within a short time, there were numerous complications and setbacks. It’s been a terrifying experience, but I am so GRATEFUL to say that he will be okay—it’s just going to take time and we have a long road ahead of us. A long, hard road I THANK GOD FOR. With both of us missing two weeks of work and now David facing at least another twelve weeks out, as he can put no weight on his legs, we’re struggling right now.

The money raised will go directly toward medical bills, daily living expenses, and in-home assistance for David while he recovers. We also care for my mother, and the lapse in paychecks has made it impossible to catch up without both of us working. We bought our home just over a year ago, using our savings, and now we’re facing expenses we never could have planned for.

Both David and I work in the automotive service industry, which in many ways becomes like family because of the long hours and dedication. David currently has only one limb he can use, and while insurance has sent him home to heal before starting physical therapy, he needs in-home care while I’m at work. I’ve worked since I was 14 years old—almost 40 years—and have always been able to figure things out, and I am very proud of that. Admitting we need help is incredibly difficult, but this time I just don’t see a way to make this work without support. Anything you can give will help and will be more appreciated than you know.
