Help Support David Embrey After Life-Altering Motorcycle Accident

Hi, our names are Dan and Mellanee Richards, and we’re starting this GoFundMe on behalf of our daughter’s boyfriend, David Embrey, who was in a devastating motorcycle accident on Thursday, July 17, 2025, while simply on his way to work.

A driver veered into David’s lane and struck him head-on, causing life-altering injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital and then airlifted to a trauma center for emergency care. His left arm and foot are severely damaged, and his left femur was broken. He has already undergone extensive surgery and faces a long, uncertain road to recovery.

This tragedy struck just as David was living fully through the things he loves most.

David is a gifted guitarist with an incredible passion for music. He was scheduled to play a gig with his band, Speed Queen, next Friday — something he had been excited about and preparing for. Music is more than a hobby for David — it’s part of his identity and a true source of joy and expression.

David and our daughter, Symphony, have been together for four years and share a deep love for music. It’s been a bond that’s shaped their relationship and brought so much joy to their lives. She has been by his side through every moment of this painful journey, supporting him with strength and love.

He’s also a devoted animal lover. His two snakes, Boa and Hook, were a top priority in his life, and he cared for them with incredible attention and affection. Alongside them, he also had a gecko and a sweet dog named Phyllis. Since the accident, we’ve taken Phyllis into our home and have arranged safe, temporary care for Boa, Hook, and his gecko until David can care for them again.

David is a kind, hardworking, and passionate young man who pours his heart into everything he does — whether it’s music, animals, or the people he loves. Symphony is about to begin her second year of college and is currently traveling back and forth between home, school, and the hospital to support David however she can.

David has health insurance through his work, but we don’t yet know when it will begin to help with the immense costs ahead. In the meantime, urgent bills are already coming in, and we are doing all we can — but we need your help.

Your donation will help cover:

• Emergency trauma care, airlift transport, and hospital stays

• Surgeries, prosthetics, and long-term rehabilitation

• Living expenses while David is unable to work

• Temporary care and supplies for his animals

• Travel and basic expenses for Symphony as she supports him

• Ongoing support for both David and Symphony in the difficult months ahead

We are still awaiting more information about the driver responsible for the accident. Legal and insurance processes take time — but the financial and emotional needs are immediate.
