Hello Friends & Family,
I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Lisa and her husband, David. Our friendship dates back to sixth grade, where we bonded over sports, navigated college together, and now enjoy life with our families.
Recently, the Ellison family has been faced with significant obstacles. It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the challenges Lisa and David are currently facing. They are in need of support from family and friends, both near and afar, as they embark on the difficult journey of David's health & liver transplant.
Now more than ever, they require assistance. I encourage you to read their story and consider contributing if you can. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful impact for this family. They are truly thankful for your prayers and support. Please help spread the word and share this!!!
Please read David's Story below...
Dear Family & Friends,
Many of you may not know, but for the past few years, my family and I have been facing a quiet but challenging journey. I was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). This disease affects only about 1 in 10,000 people worldwide, and in the U.S., fewer than 50,000 people have it. Over time, my condition has progressed, leading to liver cirrhosis, and now I’m on the waiting list for a liver transplant. This is not a reality I ever expected for my family or me, but here we are, facing it with hope and resilience.
A transplant would offer me the chance to live a healthier, more normal life and, most importantly, to spend more precious time with my family. But finding a liver is not easy. Like the 10,000 others waiting for a deceased donor liver, I face an uncertain timeline. For some, the wait can stretch for years, and sadly, many don’t make it in time. On average, people wait between two to five years for a new liver.
Asking loved ones to consider living donation is difficult, but it’s a path that could make a big difference. A living donation could potentially shorten my wait and give me a new lease on life sooner. That said, I understand deeply that this is an incredibly personal decision, and it’s one that requires a lot of thought, support, and comfort. For those interested, there are resources available that explain the process and provide guidance, but please know that I only want everyone to do what feels right in their heart.
Through all of this, we remain positive and hopeful, trusting that the right path will unfold in its own time. Thank you for the love, encouragement, and prayers you have already given us and continue to offer. Your support means more to us than words can express, and it gives us strength every day.
Even if living donation may not be possible for you, your support in other ways would still mean so much to us. Medical expenses add up quickly, and any financial contribution to help cover my treatment and care would be deeply appreciated. Your generosity would ease some of the burdens we’re facing and allow us to focus fully on the road ahead.
Thank you, truly, for any support you can offer, whether it’s a kind word, a prayer, or a donation. Each gesture of love makes a world of difference.
With all our gratitude,
David A. Ellison ,
