Our beloved brother, son, and father, David Cuevas III, is currently fighting one of the toughest battles of his life. Recently admitted to Del Sol Hospital in El Paso, TX, David has been facing severe heart issues that have left him struggling to breathe and battling extreme weakness.
David's journey began with symptoms that escalated rapidly, leading to an urgent hospital admission. Since then, he has undergone multiple critical medical procedures, including:
- A procedure to remove blood clots in his lungs and legs, addressing dangerous blockages and internal bleeding in his cough (pulmonary embolectomy).
- IV blood thinners to manage clotting and support his fragile cardiovascular system.
- Administration of Formoterol to aid in breathing.
- A regimen of over 10 different medications to stabilize his condition.
- Extensive testing for tuberculosis (TB) to rule out additional complications.
As David continues his fight, doctors are exploring the possibility of him needing a pacemaker to regulate his heart’s rhythm and ensure his survival. He is currently wearing a life vest, a device designed to monitor his heart and provide emergency intervention, while doctors determine if he is a suitable candidate for a pacemaker. The road ahead is filled with uncertainty, as we await the results of critical tests to uncover the root cause of his condition.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, David remains strong-willed and determined to overcome this battle. His spirit, courage, and love for his family shine through even in the most difficult moments.
