David and Liv Hammershoy were excited to start their own family, and were counting down the days until they got to meet the precious baby boy Liv was carrying.

Liv knew something was wrong after she had been experiencing some cramping and the baby’s umbilical cord began to protrude. At the hospital the doctors explained that the only way that the baby could possibly survive would be for Liv to undergo a type of emergency c-section that was much more risky than normal and would require an extended healing process, due to the small

size of the uterus at that point in gestation. But Liv and David never hesitated, they wanted to give him every chance of survival. During the surgery Liv, David and the baby were all champions. Everything went best case scenario. Their son, Liam Robert was born on October 23rd at 9:51 pm at only 22 1/2 weeks gestation. Liam was absolutely perfect. He was strong, healthy and fighting hard to live. Being so tiny, they intubated him and began to prepare for transport to Boston. But a few hours after being born he developed a tear in one of his delicate little lungs and began to destabilize. The amazing obstetrical team at the hospital, along with Boston Med Flight did everything they could, but ultimately baby Liam is now in the arms of Jesus.

As they grieve the unthinkable loss of their son any support to help cover medical expenses would be greatly appreciated and allow them to focus on the healing process .
