On September 10th, my brother David was involved in a terrifying motorcycle accident while riding at approximately 65 mph. With only a helmet and boots for protection, he suffered severe injuries—especially to his hands and right arm, which took the brunt of the impact.

The accident left him with extensive road rash, deep tissue damage, and open wounds that will take a long time to properly heal. Despite the severity of his injuries, he was only able to stay in the hospital for one night—not because he was ready to leave, but because he has no health insurance and the cost of care is overwhelming.

Since being discharged, he’s been facing the painful and difficult recovery process at home, without the ongoing medical support he really needs. His injuries make even the simplest tasks extremely difficult—especially with damage to his dominant arm and both hands.

We’re starting this GoFundMe to ask for help covering the basic and essential costs of:

• Wound care and follow-up medical visits

• Medications and supplies for healing

• Physical therapy (which he’ll absolutely need to regain function)

• Living expenses while he’s unable to work

• Transportation to appointments and specialist visits

Anyone who knows David knows how tough, hardworking, and independent he is. But right now, he truly needs a community behind him to get through this.
