You know that atmospheric river we had in Seattle on Monday? Well, David was walking to his car in it and slipped on a metal sidewalk plate. He landed on his elbow, breaking it, and ended up in the ER. They were finally able to get him into surgery over 12 hours later, and hopefully, he will be released Wednesday afternoon. The good news is he is doing okay (or maybe that's the drugs they've given him making him feel that way?). But the bad news is, as a gig artist, he doesn't have any insurance. I'm helping him figure out his options to get some of his bill discounted or on a financial plan. But two of his gig jobs (over-hire sewing for elaborate costumes and packaging products to ship for a gourmet chef shop) require dexterous use of both hands. And because both of us have been stretching our finances to take care of our mom these past 2 years, David has no financial safety net.

Won't you consider supporting him this holiday season? If everyone he's ever gone out of the way for, gave an opportunity to, volunteered for, or taken a selfie with each chipped in a little, it would make a huge difference for him in covering his emergency surgery and making ends meet this month.

And sending him healing wishes and letting him know you're thinking of him will help keep his spirits high (especially after the hospital drugs wear off!).
