Help support Dave's recovery from Traumatic Brain Injury

Dear friends, family, and loved ones,

My family and I are starting this GoFundMe campaign with the goal of supporting my brother Dave, who was involved in an unfortunate e-bike accident 4 weeks ago in Denver, CO.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to alleviate some of the stress and financial burden brought on by this unforeseen life event. This fund will help Dave and Jasmine stay above water, pay various bills, therapies and medical expenses while they navigate these uncertain times.

On October 26, 2024 my brother, Dave Markes and his fiancée, Jasmine, were on their way to play mini golf when he was found off his bike under a parked vehicle in a nearby residential area. That evening, he was emergently taken to Swedish Medical Hospital in Englewood, where he was stabilized in the Intensive Care Unit. He had suffered several scattered brain bleeds, a traumatic brain injury, multiple facial and skull fractures, along with collapsed lungs.

Due to all this trauma, Dave had to have a tracheotomy and will need to undergo at least one major facial surgery to his orbital eye bone and mandibular fractures. Once he is stable enough to be discharged from the hospital, he will also need extensive rehabilitation. The prognosis following a traumatic brain injury can be hard to predict due to its complexity, but we are hopeful in his recovery as he begins to work with therapy in the hospital and shows progress each day.

Dave is a 47 y/o strong, caring, beloved brother, son, and devoted spouse to his fiancée of 10 years. An awarded Designer and Art Director with 20 years of creative expertise developing brands nationwide; he is passionate about the beauty, meaning and impact behind his craft.

At the time of this accident he was on top of his game, freelancing for renowned advertising agencies and planning his upcoming nuptials abroad. He is a Michelin Star grade chef at home, a stand-up comedy buff, and a kind-hearted animal lover; daddy to guinea pigs Bella, Bradley Cooper and Stevie Nicks.
