Dave is a beloved member of our community, known for his dedication as a veteran and his tireless work as a Peer Recovery Coach for our substance abuse outpatient program. He has touched countless lives, both through his professional role and as a friend and coworker. Dave is the kind of person who treats his colleagues like family, and his compassion and commitment have made a lasting impact on everyone around him. Above all, Dave loves his children—Peggy, Joshua, Jessalyn, and Audrey—deeply and unconditionally. They are an important part of his life.


Recently, Dave received the difficult diagnosis of Metastatic Lung Cancer. This news has been a heavy blow to all who know and care about him. As he faces this challenging journey, Dave is unable to work full time, resulting in a significant loss of income. The financial strain is compounded by the need to cover living expenses, food, transportation to and from medical appointments, medical expenses, and bills such as cellphone, vehicle, heat/electricity, and housing. Dave is also the primary caregiver for his daughter, who will soon turn 18, and the funds raised will help ensure she is supported during this uncertain time.


Dave is known for his stubborn determination, his hard work, and the positive impression he leaves on everyone he meets. As a Veteran and Peer Recovery Coach for Meridian Health Services in Oakland County, he is passionate about making a difference and always stands up for what is right for his clients and coworkers. Now, as he faces one of the toughest battles of his life, we are asking for your help.
