Support Dave's Battle with Thyroid Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Libby, and I have had the privilege of knowing Dave for the last 14 years. I know so many of you, most of you, reading this also feel like knowing Dave is a privilege. About two months ago, Dave was diagnosed with Stage 1 thyroid cancer. Watching him navigate through this has made me realize how much he does for the people around him, and how much I wish I could do for him. That's why we're here, now, hopefully rallying together to help Dave through this. As it stands, Dave is having his thyroid removed Friday, May 30th, and will be out of work for about 3 weeks following his surgery. The cost of living, as we all know, is tremendous right now, let alone living with something that you have to actively fight everyday. After his thyroidectomy, Dave will undergo a bit of radiation to help hopefully kill any cancer cells that may remain, and then all we can do is go from there.
As someone who's known Dave and watched him handle this process, I feel like there are a few things he may never say about what it has been like for him. Thyroid cancer is known to be a mild cancer, one that pretty much everyone bounces back from, but no matter the severity, no matter what a doctor tells you, all you hear is the word "cancer". I've seen the word echo through Dave's head and heart and out into his life. I have seen the anxiety in him every day, the ache of facing something no one wants to even accept could be them. He's already gone through several ultrasounds and biopsies, a scheduled surgery date that got moved because they were worried the cancer had spread. Seeing someone you care about so much not know what is going on in their body and worrying that they may not be here in a year is horrible. Dave refuses to ask for the help that not only he needs, but deserves, the help that will lift a weight off of his shoulders. Right now, Dave needs his clients more than ever. Over the last 14 years, Dave has listened to the stories that his clients tell him when they sit in his chair. He has listened to them open up about the things they have gone through, given them tattoos to symbolize their own journeys through life. Dave went through the first 8 months of this practically alone. He has had his amazing girlfriend, Emily, his family, and friends, but there is only so much we can do. Everyone deserves to ask for help when they need it, I mean Paul and John co-wrote "I get by with a little help from my friends" lol.
I encourage you to watch Dave's video, listen to his story, and share it if you can. Thank you <3
