Help Support Dave in His Fight Against Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer

In May 2021, our dear friend Dave Wendel was diagnosed with breast cancer. He bravely faced the challenge, undergoing a mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy and radiation from June 2021 to January 2022. For a time, it seemed he had overcome this devastating illness.

However, life took a turn on May 12, 2024, when Dave's wife, Mila (Camille), lost her job. Just five days later, on what should have been a joyful occasion—their 16th wedding anniversary—Dave found himself in the emergency room battling breathing difficulties. The news that followed was devastating: the cancer had returned and metastasized to his lungs.

Despite being released from the hospital that day, Dave's health continued to decline. He was back in the ER the very next weekend, where doctors confirmed that the cancer had spread to his lungs, liver, and bones. This diagnosis marked the beginning of his fight against stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. While the treatments he is undergoing—oral medications and vaccines aimed at blocking the hormones fueling the cancer's growth—are intended to manage the illness, they cannot cure it.

Dave and his wife are determined to do everything in their power to extend his time with us. However, in addition to the emotional burden of his illness, they are also grappling with significant financial challenges. With mounting medical bills and the loss of income, they are struggling to keep up with their rent and monthly expenses.

We are reaching out to you for help.
