Support Dave's Battle Against Lifelong Aggressive Cancer
Donation protected
Hello! First off, thank you for being here and for your support. We are Alisha and Levi and Dave is our Dad. He’s an incredible husband and father and the rock of our family. Recently our family was blindsided by news no one is truly prepared for. Dad has been diagnosed with a stage 4 rare type of aggressive, incurable Metastatic Neuroendocrine Carcinoid Cancer. This disease has spread all through his body but primarily into some of his lymph nodes, one lung, bones, including an especially large tumor on his hip, and multiple tumors in his liver. The tumors in his liver are so large they have caused it to grow significantly in size. It is 5 times its normal size and causing him incredible discomfort by pushing other organs in his abdomen out of their normal locations. This disease has caused his body to go into overdrive to fight it. He has dropped a significant amount of weight and stays in a constant state of fatigue. All of the tumors in his body are inoperable. However, they can be treated. He is embarking on 3 different treatments. All treatments carry high risks and many have several undesirable side effects. In addition to these treatments, he will also be receiving an infusion of medication to help slow the damage being done to his bones. Both the cancer and immunotherapy can cause osteoporosis. He will have to be in treatment for the rest of his life. We are hoping and praying that many years with him will come.
The purpose of this page is to reach out to our broader community for support. It doesn’t come easy to our family to share this information, but no fight is won in isolation. Our parents are in a true place of vulnerability. We are reaching out to build a support fund to cover these ongoing lifelong treatments as well as many scans, tests, and much more coming on the long road ahead. Any contributions will help alleviate some of the stress and burden that will be continuous, especially the stress and burden on our dad. He is focused on courageously fighting this with all he has but also live life earnestly. It is with sincere gratitude that we say thank you for reading this and for any contributions. We also ask for prayers so all of our voices are lifted to the most high.
