The Menehan family is facing an unimaginable and heartbreaking time.

Dave Menehan is a devoted husband and father to three beautiful daughters, ages 12, 15, and 19. Recently, Dave suffered a massive heart attack that caused cardiac arrest, resulting in him not breathing for approximately 30 minutes. He was hospitalized in an emergency, and his lungs are severely damaged. Dave has been unconscious since August 28th. His condition is serious, and right now, doctors are uncertain about what the future holds, whether he will survive and, if he does, what his recovery will look like.

Dave is the sole provider for his family. He has been unemployed for three months. Unfortunately, he has no health insurance, leaving the entire family without insurance at a time when they are facing overwhelming medical needs.

While Dave is fighting for his life in the hospital, his wife is doing everything she can to care for their three daughters and be by his side. She homeschools their children and is also dealing with her own medical challenges. The family is suddenly facing not only the emotional devastation of Dave’s condition, but also tremendous financial uncertainty.

The weeks and months ahead are likely to be incredibly difficult. There will be hospital expenses, follow-up appointments, medications, rehabilitation, transportation, and countless other costs as the family navigates Dave’s recovery and adjusts to whatever their new normal may be.

Meanwhile, everyday life does not stop. Rent, groceries, gas, utilities, and the children’s educational needs still have to be covered, even while the family has little or no income.

Dave and his family are truly some of the kindest people you could ever meet. They have always been willing to help others, offer a helping hand, and give generously of themselves. Their strong faith has carried them through difficult times, and now they are the ones who need our help.
