my name is dave.
i'm 70 years old and live in florida with my cat, jones. i'm on social security and va disability, so i don't have too much disposable income.
recently, a small, homeless dog, who has had very limited, if any, contact with humans has been hanging (hiding) around the neighborhood. i'm guessing his age to be 2 years old, give or take. after numerous attempt at feeding/befriending him, we've arrived at the point where he's now comfortable with myself and a few neighbors; we've been watching out for him.
to say that this pup would benefit from a trip to the vet is, at least, a grossly obvious statement; his coat is matted and likely never been washed, he badly needs grooming as well as every other tip-to-tail treatment/shot/med and, aside from the everyday fleas and ticks, i'm sure he's worm riddled, too.
normally, i'd put him in the hands of the local animal shelter(s) in the area, however they're currently carrying a number of unadopted dogs, well over 150. the thought of yet another homeless animal being put down for no other reasons saddens me to my core. and i'm not even a big fan of small, "benji" type of dogs, but this is different. if i could afford the initial vet bills, i would bring this animal into my house without hesitation.
i'm currently awaiting word from area vets regarding pricing for such services; the chosen will be the beneficiary to whom the funds will go. at this time, i've no idea what the final price may be, it will likely be adjusted, but as of now i just don't know. still, i wanted to get a jump start on this campaign.
thank you SO much for your consideration, i appreciate it greatly.
so will the dog......who, being feral, will be called, "beuller".
