Support Dave Emery's Stroke Recovery Journey

We are heartbroken to share this tragic news. Dave Emery suffered an ischemic stroke on Saturday, 8/24. The stroke occurred while he was driving himself home from Ferry Beach in Scarborough; where the Emery’s spent countless afternoons enjoying the sun. No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved. Fortunately, Dave did not suffer any injuries from the accident itself. Witnesses quickly contacted 911, saving precious time in getting Dave the urgent medical attention he desperately needed. Consequently, with any stroke, Dave may have some long term limitations. These limitations are not exactly clear yet.

Dave is a talented arborist, landscaper and craftsman. If you’ve met the Emery’s you probably have one of the beautifully carved wood whales or hearts that he creates. He’s also known for being a lovable prankster and always enjoys a good laugh. Dave is a loving devoted husband and has a strong bond with his three sons. Dave’s wife, Angela and their three sons, Jacub, Devyn and Aiden have not left Dave’s side. The Emery’s extended ME, NH and AZ families have rallied around them in support as well.

Tragically, the Emery’s have experienced other life challenges throughout their relationship that they’ve met head on and overcome on their own. It is different this time. They will need the support of their family, friends and community to overcome this devastating event.

Dave’s successful business, Emery Property Care, has been sidelined, resulting in a significant loss of income for the family. Any donation large or small will be received with gratitude and grateful hearts. All donations will go to medical expenses, monthly expenses and home improvements needed to accommodate Dave in returning home.

Dave is currently at Maine Medical Center and has been cleared for rehab. Dave’s doctors and therapists are impressed daily with his physical & cognitive progress. With these recovery milestones, the Emery’s remain positive on Dave’s outlook and understand that he has a marathon, not a sprint, ahead of him.
