On November 1, 2025, my daughter, my grandson, and a family friend were on their way home to grab luggage before heading out of town to celebrate my birthday week. As they were approaching an intersection - with my daughter having the right of way - another driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic and crashed into her car. The impact caused her to lose control, hitting a wall, a fence, and then a palm tree.

Both my daughter and grandson were rushed to the trauma center. My daughter went in and out of consciousness, suffering severe injuries including head trauma, six fractured ribs, a punctured lung, and blunt-force injuries to her abdomen. She underwent emergency surgery due to internal lacerations and had a portion of her liver, kidney, and stomach removed.

Since then, she has remained in the hospital, enduring multiple painful procedures — draining abscesses from her liver, removing fluid from her lungs, and constant X-rays and evaluations. She cries from the pain daily. She cannot bathe herself, use the restroom on her own, cook, or take care of her little boy. Her recovery will be long and emotionally, physically, and financially overwhelming.

As a single mother and a college student, she cannot return to work any time soon. She has already missed school, and her life moving forward will be forever changed. The doctors have told us she will likely face long-term complications with her lungs and daily functioning.

On top of that, her car was completely totaled, leaving us without transportation as we travel back and forth from the hospital and care for my grandson. I (her mom) have also missed work to support her and manage everything at home.

Medical bills are piling up - ambulance transportation, surgeries, therapy, medications, follow-up treatments, and lost wages. We are asking for help during this unimaginable time. Any amount, large or small, will truly make a difference for her healing and for our family's stability.

wants to experience. The police report confirmed that the other driver admitted to failing to yield, but unfortunately, that does not take away the life-changing consequences my daughter now faces.
