DaShaughn Miller unexpectedly transitioned on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at his home in Virginia Beach, VA, at the age of 48. He was a man of many talents—an artist, musician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Through his work with Indigo Hippie Co, which evolved into the Indigo Artist Collective, as well as a multitude of non-profits and bands, DaShaughn became a true visionary for artistic freedom and expression. He dedicated his life to honoring his gifts and artistry with confidence and tenacity, inspiring those around him to embrace their own creativity.
Above everything, DaShaughn’s pride and joy rested in the love he had for his family. He loved his children—Jordan, ShaVaughna, Ziare, and Khonsu—deeply, and always had a funny story to tell or a memory to share that would bring joy and laughter to those around him. Prior to recently moving to Virginia Beach for work, DaShaughn spent the last three years in Charlotte, NC, serving as a caregiver for his father, who is actively battling ALS. His selflessness and dedication to family and community were evident in everything he did.
DaShaughn taught us about the power of community and collaboration through his artistry and entrepreneurial spirit. Now, in this time of sadness, grief, and healing, we hope to come together as a community to support his family. Your generosity will help cover transition costs and funeral expenses, providing much-needed relief and comfort to those he loved most.
